About Dr. Slattery
I am a licensed psychologist in Maryland and Washington, DC. I am authorized to practice telepsychology by PsyPact (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) across state lines with clients in other PsyPact states.

I hold two doctoral degrees. My first Ph.D. was earned from the American University and is in Education/Special Education/Learning Disabilities. My second second doctoral degree is from the George Washington University in Clinical Psychology, Child and Adolescent. In addition, I completed a postdoctoral program in neuropsychology. I have advanced training and/or certification in cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for children with problematic sexual behaviors. The majority of my 30+ year career has been spent in the fields of education and psychology working with children, teens and their families.
My practice focuses on children, adolescents, and their families. Because I view children as living and functioning within the context of a system, my treatment includes parents, guardians, siblings, teachers, coaches, etc. I have spent many years working in and with various schools in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia and am therefore very comfortable and familiar working with teachers and administrators in that setting.
In addition, to individual therapy, I possess an expertise in psycho-educational and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. I also perform admissions assessments for all area Independent schools.
